Book VIII in the PRESIDENTIAL AGENT series
by W.E.B. Griffin
and William E. Butterworth IV
Published 31 December 2013
With no end in sight to the smuggling of illicit drugs and the violence by Mexican cartels and the capturing and holding of U.S. tankers for ransom by Somali pirates, the President of the United States announces that he’s finally fed up. And, as Commander in Chief, he has what he thinks is a pretty bright idea – to reactivate Colonel Charley Castillo and his Merry Band and get them on the case.
Unfortunately, that will be difficult. Everybody knows that the President hates Castillo’s guts, has just had him forcibly retired from the military, and now Castillo and his team are scattered far and wide, many of them in hiding. There are also whispers that the President himself is unstable – the word “nutcake” has been mentioned among members of the President’s top advisors in their secret meetings.
How will it all play out? No one can know for sure. But for Castillo and company, only one thing is definite: This is going to be hazardous duty.
